Farm to Table

farm-to-table food programs in schools offer a multitude of benefits, ranging from improved nutrition and education to support for local communities and sustainable agriculture. These initiatives play a vital role in shaping the health, education, and environmental consciousness of the next generation.

Our program brings agriculture to life, offering hands-on experience to help students, school staff, and families make the connection between growing food and good diets, developing life skills and increasing environmental awareness. This program; teaches students how to grow vegatbales and fruits, offer the opportunity to taste and learn about fresh organic healthy foods, promotes schoolyard diversity, empowers nutrition, and drives focus, patience, cooperation, and teamwork.

Southwest Academy

Southwest Academy DC (SADC) offers an immersive and transformative summer program designed to equip youth with essential IT skills while unleashing their creative potential in Audio/Visual production. SADC goes beyond traditional education, as we embark on a meaningful journey to explore critical community issues, including substance use disorder and violence in the community.

In collaboration with passionate community supporters, participants will dive into IT training, learning I.T. concepts, website development, and digital literacy. They will also learn critical elements of the A/V industry, including concert sound reinforcement and music/video recording and production. Ambassadors who participate in this program will gain hands-on experience in I.T. and audio/visual production, equipping them with skills to master the art of sound engineering, video editing, and storytelling techniques.

Our Senior Tech Program looks to bridge the education gap in regard to technology for the senior community throughout the Washington DC area. Technology can greatly benefit our senior population, making it convenient and safe to connect with family, friends, and healthcare professionals. Seniors often struggle with reduced reactivity, making it harder to keep up with fast-paced technology.

Bridges offers seniors classroom-based interactive learning sessions that help seniors become familiar with smartphones, laptops, and tablets. We also teach proper data and computer security to ensure the integrity of our seniors data and information.
